Everything suggests that the Galaxy S Ultra range will replace the Galaxy Note from the Galaxy S22 generation. The latest element to draw these conclusions: the possible presence of the S Pen detector.

Do you miss the Samsung Galaxy Note since its disappearance in 2021? Do not panic, its legacy should completely perpetuate itself very quickly, as soon as the Galaxy S22 arrive according to certain rumors.

The Galaxy Note replacement is not the Z Fold

We had been expecting it for several months, but Samsung confirmed it this summer: there will be no Galaxy Note in 2021. And if the Korean giant has not completely closed the door to a possible return to the future, this seems strongly compromised.

It must be said that it becomes difficult to justify the existence of the Galaxy Note range in 2021 when its main advantages have already been taken up elsewhere. Its large dimensions have been taken over by the Galaxy S Ultra, as well as compatibility with the S Pen stylus. In addition, this iconic accessory is now available on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which robs it of its role as a smartphone designed for productivity.

The detail that changes everything

However, fans of the Galaxy Note range mourn the disappearance of their favorite smartphone, in particular because of a particular detail: the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may be compatible with the S Pen, neither of them has dedicated housing to store it. The stylus therefore becomes a simple additional accessory, which can easily be lost.

Several elements suggest, however, that the Galaxy S22 Ultra could take over this particularity of the Galaxy Note range. Several leakers announce that the future ultra premium smartphone will be equipped with integrated storage for the stylus. If these are just rumors, the Galaxy Club site, the source of many proven leaks when it comes to Samsung, claims to know that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be equipped with an S Pen Detector.

What is the S Pen Detector?

The S Pen Detector is a physical element present on the Galaxy Note range only. This is a part present in the bottom of the housing of the stylus allowing the presence of the latter to be detected. Thus, the phone can in particular turn on when the S Pen is removed from its location, or warn the user when the smartphone moves too far from the stylus, a sign that it has been forgotten.

Everything therefore points to the possibility of storing the S Pen in the S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 and S22+, on the other hand, would lack this housing.

This has yet to be confirmed, as Samsung has not yet officially communicated on its new range of smartphones. However, rumors suggest that it would be unveiled earlier than usual, from December 2021.
