Fitbit, the Google subsidiary, wishes to expand its sleep analysis capacities, and more particularly listen to the snoring of its connected bracelets.
This information was obtained by the specialized media 9to5google, which analyzed the latest version of the Fitbit application in the Google Play Store.

Une nouvelle fonctionnalité baptisée « Snore & Noise Detect » va ainsi permettre aux montres Fitbit dotées d’un microphone d’écouter « le bruit ambiant, y compris votre ronflement potentiel », lors du sommeil.To do this, the gadget will analyze the noise level to determine a reference.Then he will use an algorithm to detect a stronger event than the reference noise and then calculate whether it is a snoring or another thing.
Fitbit does not indicate the objective of his approach, but the snoring is linked to different pathologies, like sleep apnea syndrome which affects more than 30 % of people over 65, reports Inserm.Small downside however: the device is unable to differentiate the snoring from its wearer from those of his or his partner.
Be that as it may, the application should then indicate the frequency of snoring and, if there is none, it will also be able to analyze the ambient noise thanks to the number of decibels in order to determine if the conditions ofsleep is good.Fitbit specifies that this feature is very energy -consuming and will require more frequent recharging of the connected bracelet.
