Do you want to sell your old TV or complain about software problems? Then you can reset your Samsung TV and restore factory settings. We reveal what you need to do for it.

You may want to sell or give away your old Samsung TV, but delete all personal information first. Annoying software errors can also force you to perform a factory reset. In these cases, you need to reset your Samsung TV:

Reset Samsung T (2020), R/Q (2019) series

  1. Press the home button on your remote and select the gear icon to go to settings.
  2. Choose: “General > Reset”.
  3. Enter your security PIN code, by default it is “0000”.
  4. Confirm the following security question with “Yes” to reset Samsung TV.

Reset Samsung N/Q (2018), M/Q (2017) and K (2016) series

  1. Press the home button on your remote and select the gear icon to go to settings.
  2. Now choose: “Support > Self-diagnosis > Reset”.
  3. Now enter your security PIN code, by default it is “0000”.
  4. Confirm the following security question with “Yes” to reset Samsung TV.

Reset Samsung E- (2012), F- (2013), H- (2014) or J-series (2015)

  1. Open the menu on your Samsung TV.
  2. Now choose: “Support > Self-diagnosis > Reset”.
  3. Now enter your security PIN code, by default it is “0000”.
  4. Confirm the following security question with “Yes” to reset Samsung TV.

Reset Samsung C- (2010) or D-series (2011)

  1. Press the Exit button on your Samsung TV for about ten seconds during operation.
  2. Now a window opens with a security question that you just need to confirm.
  3. If your Samsung TV does not respond to remote control inputs while it is resetting, you need to use the buttons directly on the TV. You can find it on the right front side directly on the device.
