Nobody asked for it, but Samsung did. Available for almost two months now, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is adorned with a new feature of questionable usefulness.

Samsung's latest smartwatch now includes a web browser because...why not?

A web browser on Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

The smartwatch market continues to grow. These wearables are attractive for their many useful features, such as monitoring physical activity, heart rate and sleep, or even sending notifications. All of these things, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 does very well. And now, the Korean manufacturer's watch is adorned with a new feature that is as unexpected as it is not very useful. Samsung announces that its watches running on Wear OS, therefore the Galaxy Watch 4 range, now allow you to browse the Internet from their small screen.

According to TechRadar, who's tried it, the feature wouldn't be a total disaster, but would be clearly clunky. The texts are therefore readable, but a zoom mode is all the same included, scrolling by gesture control is suitable and it is possible to add pages to the shortcuts to find them later on your phone. Text entry, on the other hand, would be unintuitive. Difficult in these conditions to fully want to do internet research from your watch. This feature therefore seems reserved for a small niche of users, but could be used as a troubleshooting.
