Samsung's Galaxy S8 is starting to show itself in the wild. Our colleagues from BGR have managed to get their hands on a copy of the phone to reveal it in detail.

This morning, a press rendering of the Samsung Galaxy S8 appeared on the web thanks to Evleaks. This evening, the BGR site has just published an article titled “Exclusive: this is the Galaxy S8” (Exclusive: This is the Galaxy S8). The site has indeed received authentic photos of the Samsung Galaxy S8, which allows us to confirm some details, but above all to enjoy better quality photos compared to what we have seen so far.

5.8 and 6.2-inch QHD+ screens

The site confirms the curved 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED screen (2880 x 1440 pixels with an 18:9 aspect ratio, as on the LG G6) of the Galaxy S8 and its 6.2-inch variant for the Galaxy S8+, with a larger battery capacity. On the back of the phone, the protective glass is also curved, as on the classic Galaxy S7, but especially as on the Galaxy Note 7.

On the screen, we note the presence of new navigation icons which replace the capacitive navigation buttons that we found until now on the smartphones of the Korean brand. We also note the presence of a vertical bar on the right side of the screen, which allows you to use the curved screen to perform quick actions.

64 GB of memory and Snapdragon 835

This is (again) the Samsung Galaxy S8

The American model of the Galaxy S8 will integrate a Snapdragon 835 and we therefore imagine that the European version will integrate, as usual, an Exynos, and more precisely the 8895 model. All versions would have 64 GB of flash memory for the storage, with support for microSDXC cards (up to 256GB now, up to 2TB eventually). On the back of the terminal, there is a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel sensor with the fingerprint sensor next to it. There is also the iris sensor on the front of the phone, to unlock the phone, and an 8-megapixel photo sensor.

USB Type-C port and audio jack!

On the sides, there are the usual volume and start buttons, but also a button that will activate the personal assistant Bixby. There is also a USB Type-C port and… the jack port, which has not yet said goodbye to Samsung, despite an IP68 certification.

We regret that BGR did not publish a photo of the back of the phone, and we will therefore have to wait a little longer before the next leaks, or wait until March 29 for the official release of the Galaxy S8 by Samsung, with a sale during the month of April, surely on the 21st.
