Facebook should soon offer a new voice transcription feature on WhatsApp.

Concretely, the new feature will allow users to convert audio content of voice messages into text.

For a few weeks, Facebook has been working to optimize its very popular WhatsApp application.While waiting for an optimization of voice messages and the arrival of "reactions", it is the vocal transcription which should arrive soon.

In order to cut short confidentiality concerns, Wabetainfo explained that the transcription will be carried out directly on the device, or locally.In other words, voice messages will not be sent to the servers of WhatsApp (or Facebook) to obtain transcription.

Note that the functionality will not be activated by default.Currently, the latter is tested only on iOS terminals, but it should be deployed soon on all mobile versions of WhatsApp.
