Windows 11 does not like to change the recommended settings

With the update appears for example a recommendation system to help the user to make the right decisions in setting up his machine.

If you change the default settings and Windows 11 believes that it may result in a degradation of the experience, it warns you with warning messages. The system also offers you to go back and return to the previous configuration.

Windows 11 will give you tips for better setting it up

On the screenshot at the top of the article, we have the illustration for the parameters concerning power supply and battery management. Two notifications are displayed, the first explaining that with the sleep option set to never activate, the PC will consume more energy; the second indicating that by choosing that the screen never turns off, again the computer will need more energy than necessary.

Alerts on the state of health of the NVMe SSD

To the far right of the notification, a cross allows you to close it . And to the left of it, there is a clickable link that refers to the settings in order to return to the initial and recommended settings. In the first case cited above, Windows 11 displays "Allow my device to go to sleep", and in the second case "Allow my screen to turn off".

Windows 11 also has a warning feature in case of hardware problems detected on the NVMe SSD (only for this storage technology for now) of the PC. Enough to take the lead and anticipate a possible failure to come in the short term.
